MISSION STATEMENT

To provide a fun, caring and safe environment where students become an active participant in their education and take responsibility for building up the Lakeland Junior High community.

PURPOSE

For all students to have a place to connect with other students and a consistent teacher through Positive Behavior Intervention lessons, social and emotional guidance lessons and academic encouragement. Our hope is that this time will better equip students to take a role in their life-long learning as well as to help prepare them to be productive members of our community.

HOME BASE IS A PLACE WHERE STUDENTS WILL...

 

  • Get to know one another in a small group setting

  • Participate in Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support lessons

  • Engage in Social and Emotional Guidance lessons

  • Complete routine grade checks

  • Work on team building

  • Have a consistent adult for support

  • Make connections with new people

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

  • Monday 9:00-9:35

Seventh grade students are required to take ELA (English Language Arts), Life Science, Math, Social Studies, Keyboarding, Reading and Physical Education.

Eighth grade students are required to take ELA (English Language Arts), Earth Science, Pre-Algebra or Algebra, U.S. History, Careers, Keyboarding, Physical Education and Health. 

Additionally, students may elect to participate in Band or Choir or quarter long exploratory classes including  Digital Media, Industrial Technology, Spanish, Coding,Journalism, Lifetime Activities, Speech & Drama or Art .

Support classes including Strategic Math, Resource Room and Learning Disabled are available.
